Read PDFs clearly on your BlackBerry

A few weeks ago, a friend approached me with a BlackBerry problem. He had received an email with a PDF attachment, but was having trouble reading it. He could zoom in and enhance the image, but couldn’t scroll around once enhanced. So he’d have to enhance one section, back out, then another, repeat until finished. If you’ve ever been in that predicament, it’s no fun. BlackBerry News points us to a solution. It’s called BeamReader, and it will allow you to view your on-device and email attachment PDF files. Best of all, it’s free.

The idea behind BeamReader is that you can view PDFs just as you would on your computer. As they say: “Furthermore, rendering of the documents is completely local to the device and you do not need a data plan to use the reader.”

It’s still in beta, but BBNews says it’s working pretty well. You can find it at their download page.
